Q. I've been going to friends of my parents for my haircuts most of my life. It was cool, it never looked bad, but it's getting to the point where I'd like to actually get a punk hairstyle, and mom's friends just aren't really up on that. I've brought products for spiking and hold, read FAQs online, but I never can quite get it to work. I've been told the problem is I'm using too much product, not using enough, not drying my hair off properly, using the wrong product... I don't know what kind of salons you have in your area, but even a Cost Cutters or Great Clips will have lots of cool styles because they have a lot of young people working there, and know most of the latest styles.
